Canadian Wildfires near the tourist town of Jasper - By Jennifer.Koszelnik
Earlier this week, 25,000 people were forced to evacuate the area due to the buildings in the
town of Jasper being burned after the wildfires. The Environmental Canada said that it may soon
have mainly hot and dry weather which can allow the fire to spread from 1 cm to 2 cm of rain is
expected to happen. Some are saying that the fires are so powerful that some of the weather
experts are saying that the weather system is mainly trying to generate lighting. After the fires
happened last week the major spoke about how the town of Jasper in Canada was facing its worst
nightmare, how the dedication of the firefighters and first responders coming to the towns aid
help with the recovery effort of individuals. Another issue Jasper faces is that when wildfires
happen, air quality has deteriorated in that area. The city is deploying any type of resources and
any type of evacuation support, and they are coordinating any firefighting and airlift assistance.
As an individual who often reads and watches the news about wildfires happening in California
and hurricanes in the south and snowstorms in the north, it is important to recognize how much
the counties do to prepare for any disaster such as chemical or natural disasters which shows how
much resources and amount of logistical planning is needed to ensure everyone’s safety.
