Title: Emergency Preparedness
A disaster is defined as a main sudden phenomenon of anything that has sufficient magnitude that can be overwhelming the resources such as a hospital or region, and location that can require to have more of an external support. When trying to define a disaster it depends on the type of event that is happening in that area or region, severity of injuries and the government response offering resources that can help families overcome this disaster. Some of the main disasters can be divided into categories such as natural disasters such as hurricanes or tornados, chemical disasters and bioterrorism that can put a strain on the individual resources that can help guide emergency preparedness planning and response.
Emergency preparedness can encompass many diverse fields within any regional setting. Members who are working in government administration jobs should address key aspects in emergency preparedness including public safety, logistics and facilities, transportation, media/public relations, and communications. Therefore, when discussing how a country or state can accomplish emergency preparedness in three main stages such as
Emergency Planning: which focuses more on planning/prevention by offering protection from the disasters on any domestic and on the international level to help with trying to limit the main loss of life and ensure that the community has a way to reduce the main monetary impact of the disaster response. Some of the main planning components include evacuation, environmental planning, and the response standards.
Risk Assessment: The main goal is to help with identifying any of the possible disasters hitting the area, help with collecting resource inventory and identifying any of the region's vulnerable positions that is being based on location and the amount of resources available and create a priority list. Implementing a risk assessment helps with the main identification of high priority areas and helps with directing any of the mitigation efforts for citizens who need to be evucated from this natural disaster.
Mitigation: The word mitigation means that their certain actions needed to be performed before any of the disasters had happened and steps needs to be taken in order to identify any of the risks to support a response to the disaster. Therefore, mitigation can be incorporated into emergency preparedness by creating any of the floodways and encompassing putting any canals in any of the flood –prone areas.
Preparedness: means that specific measures needed to be taken to prepare for a disaster which facilities need to include any durable food, water, and power.
Develop a response team: Ensure that when preparing for a disaster that you have a response team that includes clear leaders, role, and responsibilities that can be helpful in addressing in the emergency response
The last thing that someone in emergency preparedness needs to do is to write out an emergency plan writing to provide details on the overall strategy for responding to a diaster when it occurs. This plan should be directed to any of the particular types of disasters, confirm any of the detailed procedures and identify any of the training schedules for any particular emergency plan to be successful when that particular disaster comes.
